Amelia Jenks Bloomer was born in Homer NY in 1818. A staunch advocate of women's rights and prohibition, she was an editor, author, publisher, teacher and lecturer. Famous for her stand in favor of dress reform, she appeared at her lectures during the early 1850s wearing full trousers, gathered at the ankle, under a short skirt. Although not the first to adopt this style, her advocacy popularized it as "bloomers."

Useful, spacious, heavy duty tote for groceries, books, or whatever you need to carry. Straps are long enough to carry on shoulder comfortably and they also fit over the handle to hang on most strollers. Printing looks good - thought it could have been a little more detailed/finer but I think that is a function of the fabric texture. Just a small point as still quite nice as it is.

This bag was purchased to give as a gift. It is sturdy but the fabric is not quite as heavy as I would have liked. However it is roomy and the recipient was thrilled with this tote bag. The printing was excellent. The design is actually what makes the bag.
