Whaler and Fishing Vessels near the Coast of Labra Magnet

A beautiful print of "Whaler and Fishing Vessels near the Coast of Labrador" an oil on canvas painting created in 1880 by William Bradford (1823 –1892) an American romanticist painter, photographer and explorer. Bradford was born in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, near New Bedford. He is known for his paintings of ships and Arctic seascapes. His early work focused on portraits of the many ships in New Bedford Harbor. In 1858, his painting “New Bedford Harbor at Sunset” was included in Albert Bierstadt's landmark New Bedford Art Exhibition. He went on several Arctic expeditions and was the first American painter to depict the frozen regions of the north.
