Wild Rover Clipper Sailing ship T-Shirt

Wild Rover Clipper Sailing ship T-Shirt

Wild Rover Clipper Sailing ship circa 1859 John I. Earle & Co. was a New York shipping company that owned a clipper ship. The company was known for being very pro-English. The clipper ships were known for being one of the fastest ships. It was located at 106 Wall Street. Clipper ships had narrow hulls and large sails, which traveled at speeds of up to 30 kilometers per hour. Clipper ships were a type of merchant ship from the 19th century that were faster than average merchant ships. A voyage from the East Coast to California around Cape Horn was 17,000 miles long and could easily take five months. Travel by sea in the late 18th and early 19th centuries was arduous, uncomfortable, and at times extremely dangerous. Men, women and children faced months of uncertainty and deprivation in cramped quarters, with the ever-present threat of shipwreck, disease and piracy. They were named after the word "clip" which means to get as much propulsion as possible from the wind. They were used for high value cargo such as silk, spices, and tea. Clippers sailed all over the world, including on the New York-to-San Francisco route around Cape Horn during the California Gold Rush. The period of clipper ships lasted from the early 1840s to the early 1890s over time features such as the hull evolved from wooden to composite. At the 'crest of the clipper wave' year of 1852, there were 200 clippers rounding Cape Horn. The Cutty Sark is one of only two clipper ships that survive today.

Have had Zazzle complete a number of T-shirt projects in the past. This one had several design elements. It was well done. I will work with Zazzle again.

The T shirt seems to be made from decent material but appears to be an irregular t-shirt sewn and stitched. .

I originally ordered a medium shirt which ended up being too small and the shirt material was very poor quality and thin. I was then sent a large and the t shirt material was completely different. I assume they made a mistake and sent the wrong t shirt originally (probably the “value shirt”) which also runs very small. This is my first time ordering from zazzle and, overall, they seem inconsistent but their customer service is excellent and I’m very happy with my final product. Seems like it will last but not dilated to fit the size of the shirt. (The size of the design is the same on an extra small as it is on an extra large.) I’m happy that it seems like it will hold up well in the wash, though!
