The bulk freighter ship, Wilfred Sykes was the first American built vessel constructed after World War II. She was built by, American Shipbuilding Co., Lorain, Ohio in 1949. The Wilfred Sykes is 671 feet long, with a Beam of 70 feet, depth of 37 feet, and can reach a speed of up to 16 mph. The Sykes services the regional area of the Great Lakes. Seen here in the Port of Grand Haven, Michigan which is a coastal port on Lake Michigan.
