A pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty Blackbirds
Baked in a pie;
When the pie was opened

An unbreeched king is standing on a stool and leaning over a pie with a knife in his hand. There's a crown on his blond head and he's wearing a red gown with a bit of lace at the collar. The pie has lots of black birds poking their heads out of the opening and presumably singing in this antique Victorian trade card from 1894.
