A FAMILY MERRY CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY ceramic tile gift box ... Jean Fouquet (About 1420 - 1481) painted this Madonna and Child Enthroned before 1455 (Before the end of the Hundred Years War) ... It was originally painted for a prayer book for Simon de Varie of the French Royal Treasury of King Charles VII. Jean (Jehan) Fouquet is my great great great great great great great great great great great great great (13 greats) grandfather. His direct descendant Amelia Jane Fuqua (one of 14 children and in the 4th generation in America born with name spelled Fuqua from the French Fouquet) was the paternal grandmother of my Great Grandpa Roswell Evans Johnson. Her great great great grandfather Jean Francois Fouquet was the great great great grandson of the Early French Renaissance artist Jean Fouquet ... who was about 8 years younger than Catholic Saint Joan of Arc ... so he was about age 11 when she was burnt alive by the English forces in Northern France at her age 19. Just two years before her death she had pushed back the English enough to allow the French Prince to be crowned King Charles VII at Reims Cathedral ... which she attended. My 13 great grandfather Jean Fouquet became court painter to King Charles VII and his son King Louis XI. ... Mark Edward Westerfield.

The wood is very smooth and feels as sleek as the tile itself. It opens and closes well. The hinges are tight, and do not wiggle the lid around. The tile is squarely set into the lid, and seems very secure as well. I plan to give this to the seller of this property at closing. He worked there all of his life, and his father before him, as well. A one-of-a-kind keepsake box where will be able to store his mementos. He is going to love it. The printing is very good. It's actually a Google street photo, and considering the source, it looks better than I thought it would. The focal point of the photo is nicely centered, and the colors are true.

This is a terrific product. I first purchased one for myself after my beloved dog died. Since then I've not only made up another for another one of my dogs who passed, now I make them up when good friends' dogs pass away. An artist friend uses photos of the pets and makes some pretty artwork that I upload to Zazzle and they are always fabulous. And you can't beat the price. These come out so pretty and the recipients are always so grateful. Here is another I had made up, and also one with the dog's collar in it.
