Aleutia Mug

Aleutia is a grassroots, salmon marketing effort that began in September 2002 to promote local economic development within the seafood industry and in the Eastern Aleutian Islands and Western Alaska Peninsula. Aleutia’s efforts center on developing a high-quality, niche market for sockeye salmon - harvested by Aleut Native fishing families. Marketing and public relations activities have centered on the salmon’s premium quality and the Aleut Native family harvesters who have relied on this fish for generations. We hope to build up our market base and to ensure our consumers that our fishermen are doing the best we can to give the best possible, consistent product available. We will continue to develop the aura of the personal fisherman concept whereby our fisherman, their families and their tenacious quality are promoted in a fashion like nobody else.
