Alphonse Mucha Winter tile. Oil painting on canvas from 1896. Czech painter Alphonse Mucha depicted allegorical representations of the four seasons multiple times throughout his career. This version of Winter is from a series completed in 1896 and features a pretty young woman draped in an arctic blue robe with a hood covering her light brown hair. She sands beneath a snow covered trees sheltering a little bird in her hands. Three other tiny birds sit in the branches as a winter storm rises. From the pictures we needed to replace two tiles that had the old toothbrush and soap dish and the tile guy said two tiles would have to be removed. The tiles were PERFECT! just a slight color difference to the naked eye but they match pretty darn good. Tile guy had to shave the back because the 1957 tile was thinner but as you can see it worked out great! We are elated over the moon happy, Thank you!
