Arcimboldo Spring tile. Oil painting on canvas from 1573. Giuseppe Arcimboldo was one of the most original and bizarre painters of the late Renaissance. Known during his lifetime for his elaborate portraits composed of flowers, vegetables, fruits, foods and other inanimate items, the Italian painter eventually fell into obscurity only to be resurrected in the twentieth century when the surrealists took an interest in his work. Spring is one of his seasonal portraits depicting spring covered in all sorts of beautiful flowers including daisies, roses, peonies, lilies and irises. A pretty gift for fans of Arcimboldo, Renaissance art, and springtime paintings.

From the pictures we needed to replace two tiles that had the old toothbrush and soap dish and the tile guy said two tiles would have to be removed. The tiles were PERFECT! just a slight color difference to the naked eye but they match pretty darn good. Tile guy had to shave the back because the 1957 tile was thinner but as you can see it worked out great! We are elated over the moon happy, Thank you!
