What Do Customers Say about Zazzle's Ornaments?

Karen N., ★★★★★

I've used Zazzle for making ornaments for family members for years, and every single time it's been exactly what I wanted. The website interface is easy and the final product always comes out looking great. Definitely 5 stars and I'll be doing this every year for the foreseeable future!

Barbara B., ★★★★★

Searched to find an ornament that could have my design on one side and a photo on the other. As expected, the design printed well. But I was very pleasantly surprised with the clarity of the photo (group of 7 people) and the text I added on the photo. It looks great! It also feels smooth including the edges. The quality of the printing on the edges wrapping the photo to meet the design is excellent. I highly recommend it.

Cara C., ★★★★★

The quality and look of this ornament was exactly as advertised: the photo was crisp and clear and it had a sleek and simple design. I was thrilled with how beautiful it looks and the best part is that my bestie, the recipient of this gift, was DELIGHTED. Plus, it arrived early, which is a rarity in the holiday season.

Why Order Ornaments on Zazzle?

An ornament gets used once a year for decades, so it's worth picking one that survives the other eleven months in a box. Zazzle prints ornaments in 10 materials, from ceramic and glass to wood and pewter, and in 12 different shapes including snowflakes, cubes and hearts. There's no minimum order required, so buy a single ornament to see a sample before ordering a whole set for a class or the family. We produce ornaments in 1 to 3 business days, with expedited shipping available if the date is close. Worry-Free Design Review and Delivery is available for purchase if you'd like our team to check your design before it goes to print and to avail of a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Choose from over 464,000 templates, plus officially licensed artwork from The Muppets, Sesame Street, and Disney Princess.

Popular Ornament Designs

  • Baby's First Christmas Ornaments: Add the baby's name and the year so the ornament still has sentimental value in years to come. These are the ones parents keep and hand down for further generations.
  • Family Ornaments: Design one ornament with everyone on it, or have one per person added to the collection each year. Cube shapes hold a different photo on each side if you want the whole family displayed.
  • Engagement Ornaments: These mark the Christmas between the proposal and the wedding; add both parties' names and the year to date it properly.
  • New Home Ornaments: Display the year and a photo of the house. This turns a housewarming gift into something that comes back out every December. You can purchase one for yourselves as new homeowners or gift it to someone else.
  • Pet Ornaments: For the dog or the cat who's genuinely part of the household, as well as for the ones that are no longer here. A close and clear crop of their face usually displays better than a full body shot.

Frequently Asked Questions about Ornaments

How do I make sure my ornament arrives in time for Christmas?

We manufacture ceramic ornaments in 1 business day, acrylic and paper in 3, and cube ornaments in 4. These time frames don't account for the time your order takes to ship, however, so add your ZIP code on any product page and click the date above the 'Qty:' button to see when your order would land with Standard, Premium, Express, and Zip shipping. For your last safe order date, count back from Christmas Day or whichever occasion you're buying for, subtract the production and delivery estimate, and leave yourself a few extra days if you want the ornament in hand early enough to gift wrap it. Bulk orders can add 2 or 3 days to produce, so allow for that if you're buying for a class or a team. If you're close to the deadline, Zip and Zip PLUS speed up production as well as delivery, which saves you more days.

Which ornament material should I choose: ceramic, glass, metal, wood, paper, or acrylic?

Ceramic and glass are glazed, so photos print with the deepest color and a glossy finish. Aluminum and the metal ornaments are light, won't shatter, and are the ones most often printed on both sides. Wood pieces print with a matte finish and warm the colors rather than reproducing them exactly as is, while acrylic is completely shatter-resistant and comes closest to the look of glass. Paper ornaments are flat and card-thin, which makes them light enough to post inside a card.

What resolution and size photo do I need?

Aim to upload your image at 200ppi (pixels per inch) or higher, uploaded as a JPEG, PNG, PDF, SVG, or Adobe Illustrator file. If the resolution is too low for the shape you've chosen, you'll see a warning in the design tool and again at the cart, so that nothing officially prints without you knowing first. Photos uploaded straight from a phone or a camera are usually fine, while screenshots and images saved from social media aren't recommended, since both can get compressed along the way. Ornaments are small in size, around three inches across, so use the preview on the product page to check how much of the photo still reads at that size.

Is the ornament printed on both sides?

Ceramic, aluminum, wood, paper, and acrylic ornaments print on both sides, while cube shapes can have a different design on each of its four 'faces.' Glass, pewter, premium, and framed ornaments print on the front only. Typically, an ornament turns freely on its hook, so a single-sided piece can sometimes spend half of its time showing a blank back. If double-sided printing is available, you'll normally be advised that "Printing on both sides" is possible in the design tool. You'll also be prompted to design the back after personalizing the front, on a second design layer in the customization tool before you buy. Double-sided printing comes at no additional cost.

Will it arrive safely, and does it come packaged for gifting?

Premium Square and Circle ornaments come in a velvet pouch, which doubles as the gift packaging and as somewhere to keep the ornament safe between the seasons. For all other ornaments, these come wrapped in plastic and packed with bubble wrap for transit, or you can add the same velvet pouch during checkout for between $2.25 and $2.30. If your item has been damaged while in the shipping process, you can receive a full refund, free reprint, or credit within 30 days of your receipt of delivery, whichever you would prefer.

Will the design fade, and how should I store them?

Zazzle's ornaments use UV printing, which cures the ink onto the surface rather than leaving it sitting on top. This way the image holds up to years of handling. It's recommended for storage that you wrap each one individually when you're packing them away, and keep them somewhere dry, such as an insulated attic or dry garage. Heat and damp do more damage over the years than handling ever will.

Can I order a singular ornament first, before committing to a bulk order?

No minimum applies, so ordering one is just as easy as ordering forty. Buying a single ornament first gets you a printed sample version of your exact design in the shape and the material that you've chosen, which is the best way to be sure before committing to a full run for your class, as gifts for clients, and or as wedding favors. By ordering 10 or more, the price per ornament saves you up to 15%. Add our Worry-Free Design Review and Delivery, and you'll be covered for a replacement, credit, or refund within 30 days of your receipt of delivery if you're not happy with it for any reason at all.

What else works alongside an ornament as a gift?

  • Christmas Stockings: A stocking carries the same name and design as the ornament but hangs on the mantel rather than the tree, so you've got both sides of the room covered. They're best for celebrating a new baby or a first Christmas in a new home.
  • Tree Skirts: A tree skirt is the largest printed surface in the room, so it sets the color your ornaments will be hanging against and carries a pattern that reads from across the room.
  • Christmas Cards: Send someone a card and ornament in the same or similar design, and the package will arrive feeling planned and purposeful.
