If you are looking for an exciting destination, Illinois should certainly be on the list. It's not so much the landscape . . . Illinois is almost perfectly flat. In fact, the highest point in the state sits atop one family's driveway. Literally. It's the point highest above sea level. However, the 40th President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, WAS born in Illinois and (ironically) called California, "Home". Illinois became the 21st state on December 3, 1818.
