Our ceramic mugs are safe in both the dishwasher and the microwave. The design is fused onto the surface of the mug by a process called sublimation, which uses heat to bond the ink into the coating of the mug. This means it isn't pasted on top like a sticker, so a wash cycle shouldn't lift it. Travel mugs and any style with a metal or acrylic body should be hand washed only and not go in the microwave.

No. Because the image is bonded into the mug's coating rather than sitting on the surface, there's no edge that could catch and start peeling, and therefore no 'layer' that could be sratched off. Our mugs differ in capacity, shape, and functionality. A standard ceramic mug holds 11 oz to 15 oz and suits a regular cup of coffee or tea, whereas a latte mug, which is taller and wider for milky drinks, holds 12 oz to 17 oz. An oversized or jumbo mug at 20 oz is for anyone who refills twice before 9am or who adds a lot of cream, milk, or sugar to their drink. Espresso cups hold a single short shot at 6 oz. Travel mugs are 14 oz and are insulted with a lid, keeping your coffee warm for longer.

Upload your photo as a JPEG or PNG at 200ppi (pixels per inch) or higher for the sharpest print. Many mug designs repeat the image on both sides, so check each side in the design tool rather than only the side facing you. The design tool will flag any image that's too low resolution for the size you've picked in the design tool and again in your cart. Photos taken on a recent camera or phone are usually fine, but screenshots and images saved from social media aren't recommended as they tend to be too low resolution.

A color morphing mug initially looks like a blank or plain mug, but add some coffee or hot drink and your design, pattern, or photo is revealed. The heat-sensitive coating resets as the mug cools down, so the reveal happens every time rather than just once.
