Cake Topper - ET Swallowtail on Lilac

The beautiful Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly is the Official State Butterfly for Alabama, Delaware, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina AND is also the Official State Insect for Virginia. This lovely female just couldn't get enough of the lilac planted near the house. She spent quite a bit of time there, flitting from bloom cluster to bloom cluster and managing, most of the time, to stay out of my line of sight. Patience, however, prevailed, resulting in this gorgeous photographic art print, offered here on this terrific cake pick. The original design has been overlaid by a transparent, white "bar", muting the photograph below. This allows the text to be more prominent. Offered with "Happy Mother's Day", you may modify the words to suit your special occasion. By the way, the bluish markings on the butterfly's lower back are the gender give-away. The males of the species lack this coloring.
