Declaration of Arbroath Scottish Independence Tee

This t-shirt for supporters of independence for Scotland features the famous words from the historic declaration of Scottish independence known as the Declaration of Arbroath. It was originally written in Latin and signed on April 6th, 1320, at Arbroath Abbey, six years after Robert the Bruce defeated the English at Bannockburn in 1314. Printed on the back of the shirt, the declaration in celtic style black lettering reads 'For as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.' Above the patriotic text is an illustration of the Scottish flag, also known as the Saltire. Note that the Scotland flag graphic is repeated on the front of the tee with the Scottish Gaelic phrase Saor Alba - Free Scotland. The 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn takes place this year. The referendum on independence for Scotland from the Westminster government also takes place this year, on 18th September 2014, when people living and working in Scotland will vote on our country's future as an independent nation.
