THE INVISIBLE In every town, in every city, in every country there are people who are without shelter, food and basic needs to survive. These people amongst us are in many ways, invisible. We walk by them, step over them, ignore them, and quite often are fearful of them. We shouldn't be. Many of these displaced souls are tender, smart and very alone. Many are only wanting a little conversation to lighten up their days. A little kindness. A little recognition. Someone just to say "hi". These are our Street People. Folks who are not so different from you or me. Receiving respect is their right as much as it is ours. Next time you encounter a homeless person, strike up a conversation with them and you might just be surprised to learn how much of value, these displaced citizens have to offer. I have learned much from meeting and chatting with individuals that others might disregard or discard all too easily. Just something to think about...
