Esther Wheelwright, the product of several generations of devout Puritans, was destined to become the first and only English born Mother Superior at Quebec's Ursuline Convent. During her remarkable life she saw the destruction of her home town and was kidnapped by Abnaki tribesmen. She survived imprisonment and several bouts of Cholera and, in adulthood, lived through the shelling of her convent by both the French and British during the Seige of Quebec. Her response to this lack of consideration? To turn the remains of her home into a military hospital and treat the wounded from each of the assailing armies. Learn a fascinating fragment of Canadian and Ursuline history while enjoying your cuppa !

The design is gorgeous and I love the ability to customize the colors of the mug. I chose the two-tone mug with maroon to complement the design of the flowers and love how it turned out. I only wish I had made the handle colored too (the "combo" mug). Perfect gift for any occasion! The colors of the mug were gorgeous and the print was a decent quality. There was a little speck of gold that didn't print in big block letter of the name but I don't mind. I bought the item on sale (<$10) and for the price I paid I thought the quality was reasonable.
