【Gokanikuginuki】The family crest of Katō Gengoemon, one of the Forty-seven Ronin, is a combination of a gourd crest and a nail puller. It gained popularity when the famous singer Hiromi Go played the role of Gengoemon in a TV drama. The nail puller is a symbol of good luck, as it can be interpreted as 'pulling out' or 'extracting' (kuki) and is also a simple and clear design that can be easily drawn on the battlefield. It is also known as 'manriki' or 'ten thousand power', representing supernatural strength.
