Funky Cherry Abstract Postcard

This is a retro atomic-age illustration. It reminds me of the 1950's space-age optimism, where the aliens were all strange and wonderful, and the cars had big wings and were nearly ready to fly. I remember when I was little, in the theatres before movies their were these psychedelic kaleidoscope / lava lamp shows, lifelike geometric shapes shifting and moving, colored oils ozzing into biomorphic shapes. And I was hynotized by them. They imprinted me. But I felt like I was seeing something no on else saw. It was almost like cloud watching, or like watching television static after all the stations went to sleep. You became singularly drawn to watching them, trying to find patterns in the noise, a meaning or a message, something recognizable in the chaos.
