Hammered Copper with Patina Iphone Case

The art for this phone case is a photograph of copper that I hammered and then added a patina. First, I clean the copper, then hammer it to create the texture. Next, I apply heat to the copper using my butane torch to create the various colors. The copper reacts to the heat by changing color, but you don't see the color until it starts to cool. So it's a very surprising process. You never know exactly what you will get. Once I get the colors like I want them, I let the copper cool and then photograph it.
