Heroes' Square Hungary Postcard
Heroes' Square (Hősök tere) is one of Budapest's most iconic and architecturally significant landmarks. Situated at the end of Andrássy Avenue, it is dominated by the Millennium Monument, built in 1896 to commemorate the thousandth anniversary of the Magyar conquest of the Carpathian Basin. The monument features a towering column topped by a statue of Archangel Gabriel, holding the Hungarian Holy Crown and a patriarchal cross. Surrounding the column's base are statues of the seven chieftains who led the Magyar tribes into present-day Hungary.
