Lady Drinking Tea with Cat tile. Oil on canvas from 1918. One of the great commercial and art nouveau painters working in Russia, Boris Kustodiev employed a style that emphasized bright colors, sharp figures and striking landscapes. This is one of his most charming paintings which features a merchant’s wife drinking tea before a rich table set with watermelon, fruit, bread and beautiful pewter ware. A happy cat rubs up against her shoulder. The woman wears a pretty blue bonnet and the summer in Moscow is warm with a bright sky. A great gift for fans of Boris Kustodiev, Russian Art, cat paintings, and art nouveau.

From the pictures we needed to replace two tiles that had the old toothbrush and soap dish and the tile guy said two tiles would have to be removed. The tiles were PERFECT! just a slight color difference to the naked eye but they match pretty darn good. Tile guy had to shave the back because the 1957 tile was thinner but as you can see it worked out great! We are elated over the moon happy, Thank you!
