About This Design
Lick Telescope 1889
Vintage illustration of the interior view of Lick Observatory on Mount Hamilton, San Jose, California. The original Lick telescope (57 feet long, diameter of object glass = 36 inches and the total weight = 40 tons) is mounted on a large stand and controlled by a man standing on the top level. The telescope was designed and built by Warner & Swasey of Cleveland, Ohio. It is still in use thanks to the reduction of ambient light by the city of San Jose. From an original 19th century (April 8, 1889) tinted lithograph by Warner & Swasey. All Rights Reserved © 2014 padre art

I mailed it straight to the baby's mother. She said she loved it. This was the big card. My niece put it on the mantle for a decoration for the baby's birthday party. I did see a picture of it and it looked like turned out very cute.
