This image shows a natural landscape in the moonlight; the black shadowy outlines of trees can be seen as the moonlight shines through their branches; water can be seen gently rippling on a lake in the distance. It is an atmospheric and romantic scene. This is one of many similar scenes that Ralph Blakelock painted at night in the American West.
