Old Timey Cortex T-Shirt

The canonical cortical circuit circa 1900, as painstakingly assembled from composite Golgi stains (note the historically-accurate partial cell fills!). Not entirely correct, but not too shabby considering that the connectivity was deciphered entirely using light microscopy. EM? Fuggetaboudit. At the time of publication, the existence of electrons was still in doubt. Electrophysiology was still waiting on labs having electricity. And intracellular recording wouldn't be invented for another generation. Neurons could have been filled with butterscotch as far as Golgi knew (mmm, butterscotch neurons).
