Chandelier, Hungarian State Opera / Magyar Állami Operaház, Budapest, Hungary The Opera House (aka Opera) was one of the first representative buildings of Budapest. It was constructed between 1875-1884 as part of the Andrassy Ave, the greatest urbanization project of the 19th century Budapest. It is considered to be the masterpiece of its architect, Miklos Ybl. Ybl created one of the most modern operas of the world and it has the 3rd best acoustics in Europe. The richly decorated Neo-Renaissance building is relatively small, it has 1261 seats. The construction was financed by the emperor Franz Joseph and the city of Budapest. The best Hungarian artists and craftsmen were hired to build and decorate the Opera.
