Raziel Postcard
Raziel is the angel who, according to Jewish legend, felt sorry for Adam and Eve and gave them the book of Raziel. The book was said to contain wisdom of God so archane, not even other angels could understand it. Raziel stands just beyond the viel of God and records every wisdom that is uttered. I did this painting in layered washes of blues, violets, and cool greys, reserving light yellows for the highlights. Watercolor and ink pen on hot press watercolor paper.
