She first appeared in 'Zoot' Comics (June 1947) and then would latter go on to star in her own solo series, as part of the big jungle-hero craze of the golden-era; 30's through the 50's. The artist generally credited with creating "Rulah" is Matt Baker, although Jack Kamen and Graham Ingels were also associated with her. *She is a rich female orphan and adventurer (name is Jane Dodge) that crash-landed in the African jungle and fashioned together an orange-yellow outfit from a giraffe that was killed by her plane. She ascended to the title of goddess given to her by a nearby tribe, after defeating the previous woman (who was a villain) and fighting a savage leopard with a dagger. She is proficient in hand-to-hand combat, jungle magic, and wrestling. Her loyalty to her region of the jungle is undying, and she has chosen never to return to civilization.}
