Selective Mutism I am NOT Button

For someone with selective mutism, it can be frustrating and upsetting to face all of the false ideas that parents, teachers, classmates, friends, professionals, and strangers have about why they don't speak in many situations. This shirt lists many of the things that other people assume must be true. Selectively mute people are NOT: defiant, deaf, unfriendly, intellectually disabled, suffering from a speech disorder, shy, rude, tramatized, clueless, controlling, autistic, attention-seeking, or playing a game. Some people (i.e. people with both selective mutism and autism -- or people who don't speak in some situations for another reason!) will want to customize the shirt.
