Skull Note Card

How can a design be at once simple, but detailed... plain, but striking? It's impressive for a black and white piece to be as striking as this one is. Is it the deep, hollow eye sockets of the skull? I think that's what does it for me. Not overly complicated, but still laden with intricate, tiny details, this skull design is full of little surprises.
