What you write on Christmas ornaments should be a reflection of how you write and what the ornaments are for such as hanging on your tree, a gift to a friend, and shared at work to name a few. However, there are a few things that people often include on their ornaments such as:

  1. Traditional messages such as “Merry Christmas”, “Season’s Greeting”, and “Joy to the World”
  2. Personalized messages such as “Baby’s First Christmas”, “[Family Name], and Christmas [Year]“
  3. Inspirational messages such as “Blessed and Grateful” and “Hope, Love, and Joy”
  4. Funny and Creative messages such as “Naughty or Nice” and “Deck the Halls”
  5. Memory-oriented messages such as “In Loving Memory of [name]”

To properly clean your ornament make sure you clean depending on the material of your ornament. Here are the best ways to clean different kinds of ornaments:
Glass, Plastic, and Ceramic Ornaments: Use a microfiber cloth to dust off the ornament and then clean with gentle soap and warm water
Wooden ornaments: Follow the same instructions as glass, plastic, and ceramic ornaments. Do not get them too wet and do not let them soak in water
Fabric or cloth ornaments: Use a lint roller to get rid of dust or use a damp cloth to get rid of stains or smudges if necessary

There are two reasons to hang big ornaments before small ornaments:
First, place them more towards the center of the tree to better stabilize the tree. They will make the tree less likely to tip over or be affected by the weight of ornaments.
Second, it’s easier to place big ornaments first, and then place small ornaments after to fill in the gaps.

How many you buy depends on a few things - how many you already have, your tree size, and decoration preference.

Size:
For small trees (3-4 feet) you should aim to have a total of 30-50 ornaments.
For medium trees of 5-7 feet you’ll want to aim for 70-100 ornaments.
For large trees of 8-9 feet You can aim for 150-200 ornaments.
Trees of 10 feet or more likely want at least 200 ornaments.
Decoration preference:
How many you want with our given range depends on how full you like your tree to be. If you prefer fuller trees then you’ll want more, but if you like more sparse decorations then aim for the lower range.
