Are you a religious person who golfs or do you golf religiously (pun intended)? Hit the links wearing this new patch from Saints_Aplenty on Zazzle featuring St. Jude Thaddeus, best known as the "patron saint of hopeless causes" who can surely be invoked for help with challenging golf shots! The holy sportsman is outfitted with golf clubs and a golf bag. The image was made by remixing a traditional Catholic devotional image from the designer’s private collection of religious ephemera with elements from various public domain resources. The golf club he holds in his right hand replaces a cudgel significantly thicker at one end than the other in the original artwork. Ironically perhaps, according to some accounts, St. Jude was martyred by being beaten to death with a club before being beheaded postmortem. + Here, St. Jude appears in a scene touched by genial Christian humor with a semi-realistic vintage comic PD character. The Saint with cross held high succors a young, panic-stricken duffer trying to blast his way out of a bunker or sand trap with a pitch shot onto the green. The height of Victorian male fashion, he is outfitted in a white shirt and brown plaid sports suit accessorized with a burgundy cap and matching socks. This item can be mixed or matched with others from the Golfing Saints and Golfers COLLECTION to create a uniquely personal set of golf paraphernalia. + Saints_Aplenty can’t guarantee, of course, that using our products will take strokes off your handicap. I bought my boyfriend a pair of jorts to celebrate his graduation, to which I ironed on this high-quality, beautiful patch! I used my premium subscription with the BeautyPlus App to change one of our graduation photos into a cartoon depiction, which I was then easily able to transfer into Zazzle's custom sizer. I used a straightening iron to easily apply the heart-shaped patch to the inside of the waistband. It stuck like a charm! Now every time my boyfriend puts on his jeans, he can think of us! Very happy. The patch is sublimated, not embroidered so this works better with simpler designs and/or larger patches. These turned out fantastic with smaller names on a 4 inch patch. The edges are embroidered, no loose threads. The colors are nice. Shipping was faster than predicted, about 10 days, for 11 unique custom patches. (His full name was centered, I tried to edit out his last name so it looks wonky on here, but was perfect.).
