The art that I produce is conceptualized around the struggle to be accepting of faults--in ourselves, in each other, and in the world around us. The natural world, often painted for its perceived beauty, is full of negative emotions ranging from jealousy, gluttony, and hate, among others. My work takes a comical approach to recognizing this negativity through exaggeration and whimsy. The aim is to produce an image of acceptance at the complex and harsh situations presented in each piece.
