Art_for_Juliet

Juliet and I have been together since 2004, since she was 12 weeks old. In our travels she has probably seen more of the United States than most Americans. She is my constant companion. She often goes with me to work, festivals, and anywhere else she may be allowed. Juliet has outlasted 5 boyfriends and when I was down over a break up, she'd bark at me to snap out of it (really she just wanted to go on a walk). She is the only dog I know that can answer a question - seriously! If you give her the possible answers as options she will bark at the wrong answers and be quite when you say the right one. Juliet is a Samoyed. Their life expectancy is 10-15 years. In 2016 Juliet was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma (spindle cell). Unfortunately the margin from her surgery was not wide enough and she had to have radiation treatment. I thought it was worth the expense because when I think about what brings me the most happiness in life, Juliet is the answer. Besides she was relatively healthy for her age with only a little arthritis at that time. Fast forward to a year later. Juliet is having trouble walking. She sometimes drags her back feet, and even though she can walk, she cannot stand up without assistance. She has been diagnosed with a neurological disease related to her spinal cord and it is expected she will lose the use of her back legs. There is no cure. I give Juliet plenty of exercise and we practice physical therapy to keep her muscles supple and to delay the onset of paralysis. But eventually Juliet will need a wheelchair. My passions are art and animals. To raise funds to cover Juliet's medical bills I sell my artwork. All the profits will help me pay off Juliet's medical bills. If I am able to earn enough work to exceed her medical bills, the profits will be donated to help others who may have a similar need. I hope my work spreads the love that I feel for Juliet to others.
