About
Edward Frisbie, an early colonist, helped found the town of Branford, CT in 1644. As his descendants branched out, one of the branches was Joseph P. Frisbie, owner of Frisbie's Pies, in Bridgeport, CT. Students at New England colleges, sailing the empty Frisbie pie tins on campus for sport, were the inspiration for the Wham-o Frisbee flying saucer toy.
