Technically the definition of a NERD is someone who is socially inept because they are only focused on their specific field, of which they are effortlessly experts. The modern day usage of the word now encompasses pretty much anyone who enjoys sitting quietly and concentrating on learning the very details of a specific subject. Like Hella Cliques, we are Clique Nerds! This is called "the self proclaimed nerd", and it is actually very trendy right now.
