I've been designing one-off products for my friends and family for years. Now, with life under lockdown, I decided to dust off some of my handiwork and add the bells and whistles of customization. I use my own hand-drawn cartoons, computer-created colorization and vector patterns, or photographs. (My husband and I met through a photoblogging site.) I also love to adapt historical illustrations, particularly 19th century caricatures or natural history diagrams. And as a genealogy sleuth, I can't stop myself from creating keepsakes with old family photographs. It's a lovely way to honor our forebears.
