Welcome! My name is Lori Buesking - the Oregon-based artist behind this shop. My formal art training focused on sculpture and painting, and now I have broadened my work to include graphic design. You will see a combination of hand-painted prints and digital patterns. For almost ten years, I have been an educator; yet as I awaited the arrival of my daughter in 2021, I knew my heart was in my art studio. I reflected on the times I watched my mom love my brothers and I deeply while she pursued creative projects. With my own daughter on the way, I hoped she would also see her mom doing what she loves most with whom she loves most. This studio might be a messy one, but I treasure the chance to hold a paintbrush in my hand with my little one by my side. Much of my work is inspired by my passion for the ocean. While living in Singapore, I became a certified scuba diver and fell in love with night dives. With just a torch lighting up the reefs, I could have mistaken myself for an astronaut floating among the stars. I was struck by the magical intersection between the ocean and space - the mysteries surrounding both astronauts and deep-sea divers. You’ll also see collections dedicated to the stories of women. Through my recent pregnancy and my ongoing journey with anxiety and depression, I am ever inspired by the strength of our body and mind.
