Mercury is a fierce little T-rex, that wants to show the world a two legged cat can be happy and shouldn't make people feel bad. He was found at 4 days old, weighing just about 5oz, missing both his front legs. He was taken in to an emergency vet that agreed to give him a chance, and she called us to care for him. Mercury has been with us since then, surprising everyone that he was strong and determined enough to make it. We worked with his movement, encouraging him to walk, run, jump, and stand, and now as an adult he has complete confidence in himself, and does everything a cat does. He loves to climb scratching post, get on the table to beg for food, chase toys, and even tries to dominate the dogs. The other foster kittens that come and go get initiated into the real world by Mercury as he comes up to them growling and hissing, standing on his back legs as tall as he can to chase them off if they dare try to disturb him. Most of the time, however, Mercury is showing how much he loves attention, as he stands on the back of the couch and yells at one of his humans to come up to him so he can stand and rest his head against their chest, getting pats and ear rubs in the process.
