The Dance Class. Edgar Degas (1834 – 1917), born Hilaire-Germain-Edgar De Gas, was a French artist famous for his work in painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. He is regarded as one of the founders of Impressionism although he rejected the term, and preferred to be called a realist. A superb draughtsman, he is especially identified with the subject of the dance, and over half his works depict dancers. These display his mastery in the depiction of movement, as do his racecourse subjects and female nudes. His portraits are notable for their psychological complexity and depiction of human isolation.

I love to surprise my wife with notes. I make these so I can keep them in my wallet and place them anywhere when I feel she needs a little surprise. I usually hide them somewhere for her to find in her pocket or in her car to brighten her morning before work. This is my 8th or so iteration after a few years of making them and these are my favorite. The printing turned out perfect and spot on. Sometimes the cutting can be ever so slightly off but this time it was perfect. Just make sure to follow the guide and use references that have some grace space on the edges. That is key.
