Vatican Compass Rose Pattern Business Card

From one of the many lovely and unique painted murals in the Vatican, in a map of the Mediterranean, there is a compass rose that I thought looked quite nice, and when I was experimenting with repeating patterns for textiles, I came up with this design based on the photo. I usually like making my symmetrical patterns from photos and paintings rather than digitally as it makes for more a more organic look, with a richness and variety both in colour and texture that it's hard to replicate digitally. Still, I think it's possible to make interesting ones digitally too - if done in the right way.
