Though 'Big Boo' has removed his comments (to which these were a reply), I believe the remains of the discussion still have merit... the art of demonizing activists (whether civil rights, anti-war, environmentalists or animal rights) is a subject that must be addressed. And one of the ways it must be addressed is to demonstrate how damaging the created stereotypes are to developing real understanding of the issues and those who champion them.

rather you seem to be making the point that it is the prerequisite to a "tasty" meal. If you would like to open a discussion on this matter, I am more than willing. I have been a vegan for over two decades and researched the subject extensively. My research proves beyond any doubt that humans are a type of herbivore. Exclusive plant based diets are not only healthy (and amazingly easy to accomplish provided you are not forced to live where only foods containing animal products are available), a cessation of human meat-eating is necessary to environmental health. Finally, I do not think this issue is any different than civil rights. I grew up in Southern Ohio. When I was a child, Blacks still had to ride in the back of the bus. When I was ten, I began canvassing neighborhoods in California to discuss fair housing. Still today, people will make racist remarks in my presence… maybe it is inappropriate for me to chastise them.. but I do. I am white, but my surrogate mother was Black… and my most esteemed teachers of philosophy have ALL had bodies other than human. Kapische?

It is terribly important. I promise, you will be glad you did... because these realities are not going away... until we begin to understand what is at stake.

I was informed of the decision and a reason was given that was not applicable to the situation. My protest(s) went unanswered and the products were summarily removed. This was not the only case. We live in a corporate controlled global culture that can and does substantially dictate the policies by which we live (and the information that will be available). Corporate entities are not designed for democratic management, but rather to extend power, control and influence. Within this matrix, those of us with an eye on the shortsighted destructions wreaked must do what we can when we can... until the most grievous of outcomes are successfully alleviated... you and I and so many others will ultimately prove our points... but for most, it is already too late...
