I love language. I love the sound when you speak it. I love the shapes it makes when you write it. I love it from the most basic slang, to the Olympic heights of Shakespeare. I love to travel the globe through language; from my mother tongue of English, to second language French, to discovering new words in different languages.
I love language, but I’m not sure it loves me. If I’ve only heard a word, I can not spell it. If I’ve only read a word, I can not pronounce it. I’m dyslexic, but dyslexia did not make me hide from language. When I could not spell a word, I searched my mind for an alternative. Dyslexia stretched my language. Dyslexia forced me to explore all quarters of language.
I created The Language Emporium to celebrate and share my love of language. It’s early days yet, with only a few products posted online, but over the coming weeks and months more products will arrive!
If there’s a particular product or design you’d to like, give me a shout and I’ll see what I can do.
