A gallery of greeting cards, prints, mugs, stamps, and more created by the Watercolorist G. Owen using his original paintings. Most of the artwork displayed is created with transparent watercolor. There are some that are produced with pens. I am in the process of stretching myself, skills, and creativity by painting in other mediums....like acrylic, oils, and pastels. Please look for them in the future.

About the Artist

The artist, a Texas native, has lived in the Central Arkansas area near Little Rock, Arkansas for over 15 years. He is listed in the the Arkansas Artist Registry, and is a past member and past President of the Arkansas League of Artists in North Little Rock, Arkansas. The artist enjoys producing art chiefly through watercolors, but works in pencil, pen and ink, and other mediums as well. Through his creations, he paints for you to find joy, peace, hope, comfort, encouragement, beauty, and the sense of romance.

The subjects that this artist creates are chiefly landscapes, but he enjoys the challenges of other subjects. The artist sees his subjects in his mind and lets the beauty he sees get into his soul, so that he may paint from his heart. Although the artist's training is chiefly by trial and error, his collegiate education and experience are in the areas of biological science, environmental science, forestry, and conservation.

Periodically, he studies at the Arkansas Art Center Museum School to improve upon his art and techniques to bring his skills to the highest possible level. He also reads major art magazines and books to keep abreast of new ideas and techniques. These experiences has definitely influenced the manner in which the artist produces his art. He has been successful with his paintings being purchased for private collections across the United States.

Some of the artists that has influenced his art are Thomas Kinkade, G.Harvey, George Inness and the Tonalists, the Impressionists, Winslow Homer, Vincent Van Gogh, and Albert Bierstadt.
