It's the killer whales that brought me to San Juan Island, WA in the Pacific Northwest. I started coming to the island in the early 1990's, and as life would have it, I 'landed' here to stay in 2004. After getting over the excitement of seeing so many whales, so close to shore, so often, my curiosity drove me to learn just who they are. They are families who travel together, share food, play together - moms, sisters, brothers, etc. What I have observed over the last nine years has been enabled me to share glimpses into their lives as they travel about the Pacific Northwest.
