In Honor of Those Who Served and are ServingThe Star Spangled Banner performed by Jake Shimabukuro
A wonderful dog rescue group in my neighborhood is Mariah's Promise. They'd love to have you stop by for a visit! About Me:As a small puppy, so small my eyes were not yet opened, I was left with a teddy bear and wrapped tightly in blankets and t-shirts at an animal shelter in the hopes that someone could save my life and care for me. You see, I wasn’t a healthy puppy. My rear hips and legs trembled so badly it was thought I had severe neurological problems with possibly brain damaged associated with the shaking. This must be why my original owners left me at the shelter so tenderly wrapped. In the hopes of getting me the medical attention I needed. I thank them for loving me and wanting the best for me, enough to let me go in order to get the help they were unable to provide. Their unselfish actions saved my life. They could have easily done the unthinkable instead. One day, I hope they will contact me so they can see how well I’m doing! I try to stay in touch with the local community so they can find me. I started life with a lot of help from a lot of kind and compassionate humans who were determined that I survive. The loving staff of the Valencia County Animal Shelter in Los Lunas, New Mexico took me in and gave me 24 hour around the clock care. Each night, one of them would take me home with them to nurse me, for I was much too young to be away from my mother. The shelter staff immediately took my picture and put me on that amazing invisible internet called the World Wide Web in the hopes of finding me my forever home with the care and medical attention I would need. Someone with Chinese Shar Pei dogs in Colorado wanted me! You know which dogs I mean, those wrinkly dogs. All those wrinkles give me a lot to bite onto when we play wrestle; it’s a great advantage for me! The shelter had suspected I was a Chinese Shar Pei puppy because of my baby wrinkles. As I grew, it was clear I was a happy mutt only disguised as a polar bear. Later, my forever mom was told I was a mixture of Boxer and Dalmatian. So that would make me a Dalmatian without my spots? I may not know where I came from for sure, but my mom loves me anyhow. My new grown up mission is to help other pets in need. This is why I have opened this Zazzle gallery. It’s my turn to give back. Now, my mom has lots of stuff to help animals in her really big store HERE, but since I’m growing up and becoming a doggy teenager, I wanted my own especially devoted store to help those needing saving like I did. Besides, I got sick of competing on the front page with that old man pack leader called “Obama”. And I thought I had a weird name! At least Obama and I have two things in common, one is we are both mutts, and two is my mama loves us both. One day when I grow up my mom will transfer my stuff to my store, hopefully. It doesn’t really matter; she still gives me my due to help me help other animals. Besides, as a teenage doggy I have discovered that I am famous and don’t really need my mother’s help to do everything. You guys will love me for my handsome face, I just know it! I'm cute as a button, you betcha. My mother says this is the testosterone talking and that attitude will be gone very soon, when there is no more. I’m not sure what she means by that? To see how famous I am already, I made the local Los Lunas, New Mexico newspaper HERE . Read all about me and come back to visit! Luna Aka Moon Doggy P.S. I got my name after the town that rescued me, combined with the Spanish word for ‘moon’. I am all white in color, like the shining moon in the heavenly skies. I had only one single birth mark that looked like a third eye, until I started maturing into a dog. Then, I started getting spots on my ears and under belly, and even on my skin that can be seen through my white coat. It’s the doggy version of acne. Or maybe it’s the Dalmatian spots coming through? |
