The Barns of Carver County Minnesota is an ongoing photographic and historical project that documents the barns and farmsteads of one of the richest agricultural areas in Minnesota. Ruth Tremblay, a Carver County resident and photographer began the project in 2006 when she began noticing that these historical markers were disappearing from the landscape to make way for new houses and shopping centers.
The purpose of documenting the barns is to create a visual and historic record to preserve the legacy of the county's farms and farm families. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these photographs benefit the Carver County Historical Society located in Waconia, Minnesota.
