According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 1 in 150 children is born with congenital CMV (cytomegalovirus).

Congenital CMV causes deafness, blindness, cerebral palsy, mental and physical disabilities, seizures, and death.

Congenital CMV can be prevented by practicing good hygiene while pregnant. Handwashing after handling or playing with babies and small children is important, in addition to not sharing utensils or drinks and not kissing babies and small children on the mouth or face.

At Stop CMV, our mission is to prevent and eliminate congenital CMV and to improve the lives of all people affected by congenital CMV.
