Superplus Swag

Superplus is a student publication at the University of Michigan that seeks to both celebrate and critically examine the vapid commercialism and hysterical politics of our contemporary culture. Think lolcatz. Think 20,00 plastic smiley faces, in a row. Think 2012. Think infomercials. Think Miley Cyrus. What does this mean and how can we as thinking creatures make sense of it all? Or at least have some fun with it? These are the central questions that our publication seeks to explore, with contributors from any and especially marginal perspectives welcome. We want to open a file on the machinery of reality, draw up genealogies of mutant ideologies and create micro-ethnographies of emergent culture. Our articles represent amalgamations of student economists, philosophers, anthropologists and warrior-poets collaborating on the most melodramatically self-important questions of our era.
