The Commute is a 24 hour, 50 mile walk from downtown San Jose, along Route 82 (The Alameda, El Camino Real, Mission Street) through many peninsula communities, to downtown San Francisco. Starting in the morning, participants will spend one full day walking through and experiencing the communities that they drive past in the rush of their daily commutes. Traveling this easily drivable distance at a human pace is a unique physical and mental challenge.
