Calling all trans/gender variant identified people and allies!

2009 will be the third year for Portland's Trans March. Up until now, it has occurred in concert with the Dyke March. The 2009 March will be a stand alone event held on Saturday, August 1st that will focus on the following:

• Trans/Genderqueer visibility, but even more than that, it is about free gender expression for all people
• Anti-corporation statement; let's focus on local sustainability
• Inclusion; we're not being seen, and are often lumped into gay/lesbian community. Some folks don't identify as queer - what about the straight folk?
• It's about gender, not sexual orientation.

As such, this year's march has been renamed Gender (Free) For All! -- a march about inclusion, not exclusion. We will be holding monthly meetings (switching to weekly meetings after May 20th meeting), with google group set up for all participating members.
